The Story

Black Veil is a study in contradiction — midnight-dark in appearance but luminously clean on the palate. Activated charcoal renders it dramatic without altering the delicate balance of gin and elderflower. It arrives looking like a secret and tastes like clarity.

Ingredients

01

London Dry Gin, 45ml

02

Elderflower liqueur, 15ml

03

Fresh lemon juice, 20ml

04

Activated charcoal, ½ tsp

05

Cucumber slices, muddled

Method

Muddle cucumber slices in a shaker. Add gin, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, and activated charcoal. Shake hard with ice. Double-strain into a highball over fresh ice. Top with chilled soda water. No garnish.

Tasting Notes

How it unfolds

01

Clean and botanical on the nose. Gin and fresh cucumber.

02

Elderflower blooms mid-palate — soft, floral, precise.

03

Lemon brightens. The charcoal adds mineral depth.

04

Light, dry finish. Unexpectedly elegant for its appearance.
